Pastor Ronnie D. Joyner. D.Min. answered his call to the gospel ministry and delivered his initial sermon, on March 31, 1974. This year 2022 marks his 48th year in the Ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ. He has served in the pastoral ministry since November 1975 serving Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Chesapeake, VA; Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Norfolk, VA; and planting the Philadelphia Fellowship (Baptist) in June 2000.
Our First Lady, Olliette C. Joyner, is God’s daughter, a gift of His love, and a treasure of His care. She is an educator, wife, mother, and counselor to many.
Lady Joyner is the daughter of the late Dr. Olleo L. and Carlotta B. Cromwell.
Dr. Joyner is a 1975 graduate of Norfolk State University ~ Bachelors of Arts Political Science, a 1978 graduate of the School of Theology-Virginia Union University ~ Master of Divinity, and a 1983 graduate of the Howard University’s School of Religion ~ Doctor of Ministry. Dr. Joyner recently completed a 12-month sabbatical at Boston University looking at Divorce Among African American Clergy during the Sabbath in the City Series.
Lady Joyner received her early education in Portsmouth and Chesapeake VA and her undergraduate studies at the historic Shaw University in Raleigh N.C. where, in 1973, she received her B.A. degree in Elementary Education.
He is past president of the Division of Clergy, Baptist General Convention of VA, past president of The Metro Minister’s Conference of Virginia, and has been a featured speaker at colleges, churches, and convention settings in 35 states and 5 foreign countries.
He has authored 8 books: Lessons in Family Development, The Ministry Of A Deaconess, The Bible Based Family, Breaking Free From Financial Bondage; The Year of Jubilee Family Legacy Ministry; The Power of Prayer; Actions of Healthy Leaders, Families and Biblical Leadership, & The Ministry Of A Deacon, all through R.D. Pastor Joyner & Lady Olliette have been married since Nov. 1, 1974, and during their 48th Year of Marriage, they celebrate being the proud parents of two sons, Ron II, and Julian Leville who are both in Ministry, one daughter in love Trin'ea and their two granddaughters, Reynah Trin'ea & Noelle Juliana.
